Podcast #22: Wake by Hillsong Young and Free & Psalm 100:5

I’m an enthusiastic Cajun girl. I love food, I love football, I love to talk with my hands, I love God’s Word, I love music, and I love to jump around a bit. This week’s song “Wake” by Hillsong Young & Free will put you in a dancing mood, but even better than that, it points us straight to Scripture.

I can’t think of any better reason that to dance around with joy and celebration than when I think of God’s unfailing love that will continue FOREVER!

Podcast Episode #9: Oceans (Where Feet May Fail) and Matthew 14:27

Have you noticed that Jesus does not calm the storm BEFORE he calls Peter to step out onto the water? You will notice this and more as you meditate on Matthew’s account of Jesus and Peter walking on water this week. Once the story becomes alive in ways you never thought possible, every time you hear Hillsong United’s song “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” you will be drawn into the narrative again and hopefully be encouraged as God calls you into deeper waters with Him.

As He calls you to deeper waters, He will give you His courage and hold your hand all the way.

On this episode, I discuss:

  • 4 ways to engage Scripture
  • Detailed ideas on how to meditate on Scripture starting this week!
  • How this song and the related Scripture has impacted me
  • Allowing music to open our hearts as we cry out to God in worship and prayer
  • Our memory verse for this week and a word study on “take courage”

Podcast Episode #7: Do Something and James 2:17

Helen Keller once said, “I am only one, but still I am one.  I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.”  This quote has been next to my computer for over 11 years.  I am reminded of it and of what James has to say about our faith being evident through our actions every time I hear Matthew West’s song, “Do Something.”
